Summer 2009 Home Canning Adventures

Now is the time of year that you can find all sorts of goodies at the farmer's market that are perfect for making an assortment of canned goods. Of course we plant all sorts of things in our yard that I use too: tomatoes, eggplant, butternut squash, cucumber, chard, hot peppers, tons of herbs, and the occasional zucchini or yellow squash.

This is a lovely image of some primitive stone sculpture somewhere in Florida. I imagine that they are an excellent way to keep spirits out of your yard and perhaps to keep your neighbors at bay.

Of course, their owner simply could have been a little lonely and made himself some new friends. I mean...who hasn't done that when they come across some large stones in their yard, right? RIGHT?

Animal Control

Forgive me if I'm a little bitchy as I write this, but I've been awake since 5 am and I am NOT a morning person. In fact, I don't like to even see people until about 11 in the morning - let alone have to talk to them.

Why were you awake at 5 am, you ask?

BECAUSE MY FREAKIN' NEIGHBOR DECIDED THAT HER TWO YAPPY SHITS-FER-DOGS NEEDED TO BE IN THE FRONT YARD AT 5 AM!!

Chicken Kabobs with Pilau

This is how I used my All Purpose Tandoori Spice Rub. I cut up a chicken breast and tossed in about 2 teaspoons of the spice mix, skewered it, and grilled it.
